Eric Gibbons, a junior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, has been selected to serve as a member of the inaugural SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Youth Advisory Council. The Council brings together young leaders from across the country, ranging in age from 14-20, to provide input and ideas to SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment and its partners regarding conservation initiatives, education programs, and strategies for reaching and engaging young people in conservation work. TMI student invited to D.C. security program

Ana Paula Velasco, a sophomore at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, attended the National Youth Leadership Forum for National Security in Washington D.C., March 10-15, during her school’s spring break. This invitation-only, six-day course provided high-school students from all over the country with an interest in careers in security with a hands-on opportunity to develop their understanding in the fields of intelligence, defense and diplomacy. TMI students win top places in classics competition

Students from TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas earned honors Feb. 21 at the Texas State Junior Classical League (TSJCL) Area B Convention at Reagan High School. Twenty-one TMI Middle School students and 18 Upper School students joined 1,200 area classics students to take part in the daylong competition. TSJCL Area B Convention 2015

This past Saturday, February 21, 2015, 21 Middle School and 18 Upper School Latin Students spent their Saturday joining 1,200 local area students at the 2015 Texas State Junior Classical League (TSJCL) Area B Convention at Reagan High School. It was an early start and a very long day, but it was so worth it by the time we got to the awards ceremony. TMI middle-school students receive new award

The first three winners of the new Middle School Student of the Month award at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas were announced Jan. 27 during daily chapel. The award recognizes exemplary behavior with an emphasis on community involvement, respectfulness, responsibility and safety. Honorees are: Simon Rupe, sixth grade; Montserrat Martinez, seventh grade; and Alec Neiman, eighth grade. Student of the Month candidates are nominated and voted on by Middle School faculty. TMI poetry winner bound for state

A sophomore at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas was selected to advance to the state Poetry Out Loud competition, to be held Feb. 28, 2015, in Austin. Sophomore Alexandra Prado was the school competition’s winner; she will represent her school among students from high schools all over Texas.  Junior Sofia Miranda-Fred was named runner up and will take part in the state competition if Prado is unable to attend. TMI athletes earn state, district honors

Junior and senior athletes from TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas have been recognized by the TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) conference with state and district honors for fall sports. In football, DeAndre Wilson and Zachary Trevino were awarded Academic All State recognition. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 90 or 3.5 and be named to first or second All District teams. TMI swimmers qualify for elite meet

Four members of the varsity swimming team of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas qualified for the TISCA (Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association) Championships for their times at the Alamo Area High School Swimming League County Invitational, held Nov. 15 at Palo Alto College. Other than state competitions, TISCA sponsors the premier swimming meets in the state of Texas each year. Swimmers from both public and private schools are allowed to attend, and qualifying time standards. Corps of Cadets members participate in the JROTC Academic Bowl

Six members of the TMI Corps of Cadets participated in the 2014-2015 JROTC Academic Bowl: Cadets Lincoln Abbott, Christopher Clark, Saad Ehsan, Garrett Lindemood, Juan Pablo Martinez, and Sofia Miranda-Fred. The TMI team scored a 90% overall. One of the main goals of the JROTC Academic Bowl is to prepare students for state exit/graduation exams as well as college entrance exams, such as the SAT and ACT. Questions about current events were also included – focusing on national and international news, particularly international relations, politics, business and science.
