LePort selected to serve on Educational Resources and Review Committee

MAY 7, 2021 – Congratulations to Humanities Teacher Dr. Brian LePort on being nominated and selected to serve on the Educational Resources and Review Committee for the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL). SBL is the largest international society of scholars studying literature related to the Bible. The Educational Resources and Review Committee “addresses the need for accurate, academically-sound classroom resources on sacred texts for secondary schools, as well as resources that inform and educate the general public.” Dr. LePort’s involvement is expected to focus on shaping curriculum that’s appropriate for secondary/high school students. TMI Head of Middle School pursues professional development at Harvard

8/9/2018 Victoria Banks, TMI Episcopal Head of Middle School, earned a graduate certificate earlier this summer at a Harvard University program for professional educators.Banks attended a leadership institute for administrators July 10-16 at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. The course, titled “Leadership: An Evolving Vision,” provided her with the opportunity to work with school leaders from all over the world, with a focus on aspects of leadership in education. 7/27/2018 TMI Episcopal history teacher Kristian Marks joined colleagues from all over the country at a workshop on Technology’s Impact in American History, held June 27-29 at the U.S. Army History and Education Center in Carlisle, Pa.Subtitled “The Army and the Technology of Warfare,” the workshop explored how the U.S. Army developed new technology and promoted innovation as a result of changes in warfare throughout its history. The center’s instructors provided presentations on technology and history, offering ideas on how to present topics to students and how to use archival research in class. TMI teachers honored with Core Values awards

5/29/2018 Five TMI Episcopal teachers were presented with the first-ever Bob Bell Core Values Awards at the end-of-year Headmaster’s Luncheon, held May 25 in the school’s Alkek Refectory.The awards were named after former English teacher William R. “Bob” Bell, who retired in 2015. Early in his career at the school, the West Point graduate helped to create TMI’s current honor system, including a student Honor Council and an Honor Code.
