On Saturday, February 27, 2021, TMI Latin students competed at the annual Texas State Junior Classical League (TSJCL) Area B Convention, which is a part of the National Junior Classical League – an organization of middle school and senior high school students sponsored by the American Classical League. TMI Academic WorldQuest teams capture 2nd and 3rd place

Two TMI teams participated in the Academic WorldQuest competition sponsored the World Affairs Council of San Antonio on Tuesday, February 23rd. The Junior-Senior team included senior Erik Peterson and juniors Evan Gardner, Farouk Ramzan, and Jack Waters. The Freshmen-Sophomore team included sophomores Elise Bostian and Owen Bruhn, with freshmen Khivan Raina and Calvin Walls. Both were quizzed on their knowledge of international relations and current events, with special topics ranging from the legacy of the Arab Spring to the International Labor Organization. Girls varsity swim team wins TAPPS Division II state title, boys 2nd

Congratulations to our girls varsity swim team on winning their first TAPPS Division II state title on Tuesday and also becoming the first all-girls TMI team to claim a state title! Freshman Emily Kitayama was named the Girls Division II Bruce Rollins Swimmer of the Meet. The boys varsity swim team took 2nd place, making them the TAPPS Division II state runner up. Cadets assist with Bexar County D-Day Document Day

On Friday, December 4th, 2020, the Bexar County Military & Veterans Service Center hosted a drive-through event, D-Day Document Day, to help veterans begin the process of filing for their Veterans Administration disability claims. Volunteers were on site to help veterans with their paperwork and six TMI Cadets joined the volunteers from the American GI Forum and Bexar County officials. Thank you to sophomores Ishan Shah, Chaz Bregman, and Noah Bregman and juniors Farouk Ramzan, Matthew Sutherland, and Campbell Streak-Jensen for volunteering to be a part of this initiative. National Merit Scholarship and College Board Recognition

Congratulations to the following students who were honored in chapel on Friday, November 13, 2020, for their achievements in being recognized by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Program. Fine Arts teacher commissioned by COSA World Heritage Office

TMI Fine Arts Teacher Cassie Gnehm was commissioned by The City of San Antonio World Heritage Office to do a painting commemorating the life of Madame Candalaria, who is known for numerous accomplishments in San Antonio, but most known for her story of nursing the ailing Jim Bowie during the siege of the Alamo. Puri completes online structural engineering courses over summer

Congratulations to freshman Krish Puri on his achievements this summer completing two online courses at Princeton University in structural engineering. TMI senior selected for Washington Youth Leadership Seminar

Congratulations to TMI senior Erik Peterson on being selected by the LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC) to participate virtually in the Washington Youth Leadership Seminar to be held later this month from September 24-26. This year’s topic is on the education policy amid the COVID-19 pandemic; students from all across the nation will participate in the seminar. At TMI, Erik is involved in the gaming club, philosophy club, served as a track manager last year, and participated in TMI’s JSA.
