TMI Swim Wins Regional Swim Meet

TMI Swimming made a huge statement this week in the TAPPS regional meet. Both the girls and boys teams finished 1st place and earned top honors as they took one more step towards their goal of a dual State Championship. TMI Students’ Succeed in Austin Debate Tournaments

Two TMI debaters traveled to Austin to compete in two tournaments on January 20 and January 21st, where they debated with students from across Texas on topics ranging from funding for hypersonic missiles to whether the United States should support the independence movement of West Papua in Indonesia. Anish Beeram ’23 placed first in all of his rounds and first overall in Congressional Debate in both the Westlake High School tournament and the Austin Liberal Arts and Sciences Academy tournament. Grayson Weekley ’25 also made speeches at both tournaments, earning points for TMI and positive feedback from the judges. 41 Students Inducted Into TMI National Honor Society

On Thursday, January 12th, 41 new students were inducted into the TMI chapter of the National Honor Society. It was a successful and moving ceremony, and we are proud to acknowledge their academic and leadership accomplishments. Furthermore, 6 new officers were installed, including Caitie Miles ’24, Bernice Gitiche ’24, Alexandre Steunou ’24, Joaquin Espinoza ’24, Aidan Notzon ’24, and Cecile Tchandja ’24 (not pictured). John Liu Awarded “Best In Show” at TAPPS Photography Competition

John Liu ’24 independently entered a TAPPs photography competition last semester. The competition consisted of a total of 1,284 students participating from 56 schools throughout Texas. John Liu submitted 18 photos in total and received recognition for nine of them. Four of his photos won first place, one photo earned second place, one photo earned third place and three photos earned honorable mentions, which resulted in ultimately taking first place in the entire competition and being named “Best in Show”! Carson Moore Chosen to Lead Youth Event for the Diocese of West Texas

Carson Moore ’23 was nominated and chosen to serve as the Rector of Happening #152, a youth event for the Diocese of West Texas. Carson served as the Rector for the 3 day retreat at St. David’s Episcopal church. At TMI, Carson is the Battalion Commander of the TMI Corps of Cadets and plays on the Boys Varsity Soccer Team.
