On Saturday, February 27, 2021, TMI Latin students competed at the annual Texas State Junior Classical League (TSJCL) Area B Convention, which is a part of the National Junior Classical League – an organization of middle school and senior high school students sponsored by the American Classical League. It is the largest Classical organization in the world today. National Latin Exam Awards

All TMI Latin students took the National Latin Exam the week before spring break on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, and the results are in! Of the students who took the exam, 82% of our Middle School Latin students scored above the national average, and 48% of our Middle School Latin students are in the top 10% in the country. In addition, two 8th grade students, Zoey Gates and Justin Khemalaap, achieved perfect scores! We are all very proud of our students’ hard work and achievements. TMI students earn awards at TSJCL State Convention

This past weekend on April 5-6, the 2019 Texas State Junior Classical League (TSJCL) State Convention was held at Anderson High School in Austin, Texas. Thirty TMI Episcopal students, 20 middle school students and 10 upper school students, joined over 1,500 other top Latin students from around the state to test their academic mettle. Our students brought numerous awards and we are incredibly proud of all their efforts. 2019 Texas State Junior Classical League (TSJCL) Area B Convention

TMI students win national Latin awards

7/31/2018 Bridget Lynch and Karina Samuel, both rising seniors at TMI Episcopal, brought home top-place awards from the National Junior Classical League convention, held July 22-28 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.They joined more than 1,600 students from across the United States to participate in classically related activities, including numerous colloquia and academic contests covering a wide range of classical subjects. Competing against some of the country’s most talented classics students, Lynch earned fourth place in Roman Life (daily life and culture in ancient Rome), and Samuel earned fourth in Hellenic History (ancient Greece). TMI student completes ‘immersion’ study in Spain

7/28/2018 Claire Williams, a rising sophomore at TMI Episcopal, recently completed a monthlong summer Spanish immersion program for high-school students in Segovia, Spain. At the Instituto San Pedro, Williams lived with a host family, studied Spanish grammar, conversation, composition and civilization at the Padre Claret high school in Segovia. She also taught English to local children and experienced culture, history and architecture through daily tours. All activities, in and out of the classroom, are conducted in Spanish.
