Cadets assist with Bexar County D-Day Document Day

On Friday, December 4th, 2020, the Bexar County Military & Veterans Service Center hosted a drive-through event, D-Day Document Day, to help veterans begin the process of filing for their Veterans Administration disability claims. Volunteers were on site to help veterans with their paperwork and six TMI Cadets joined the volunteers from the American GI Forum and Bexar County officials. TMI Episcopal school supply drive

TMI Episcopal students collected school supplies to donate to the Battered Women’s and Children’s Center in San Antonio.The drive was organized by students in the school’s Interact Club, a Rotary-sponsored youth community-service organization, partnering with the school’s Health Center and Koplin Consulting, a behavioral-health service. Students contributed backpacks and other school supplies for children in the shelter, who need them because families staying there typically leave their homes in the middle of the night, leaving most of their belongings behind. TMI student leads coat drive for homeless

1/16/2019 With the help of several area businesses, TMI Episcopal senior Hannah Allen brought some seasonal warmth to homeless men, women and children visiting Haven for Hope last month.Starting last July, Allen began her project to collect new and gently used coats for those in need. TMI NHS donates to SARead’s Book Bank

12/14/2018 Members of the TMI Episcopal chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) collected more than 1,000 books to donate to SAReads, a project of Literacy San Antonio that operates a Book Bank to supplement area classroom libraries.NHS Secretary Melody Umsted and members Hannah Allen, Dylan Pegg and Caroline Vassar delivered two full bins of books Nov. 17 to the Book Bank, located at the Gulfdale branch of Firstmark Credit Union. TMI students aid Central American communities

5/1/2018–The Middle School Spanish Club of TMI Episcopal raised $1,280 for the Pulsera Project, a nonprofit organization that partners with U.S. schools to sell colorful bracelets (pulseras in Spanish), handwoven by artisans in Guatemala and Nicaragua.TMI middle-school student volunteers sold the bracelets April 23-26 during their “flex time” free period, raising $1,010 to which the Upper School Spanish Club donated an additional $200. Students at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas collected a total of $1,899 to aid veterans with a Red, White and Blue Dress Day. Sponsored by the school’s chapter of Interact, a Rotary-sponsored youth service organization, the fundraiser allowed students who usually wear school uniforms to come to school wearing red, white and blue on Sept. 11 for a $5 donation. Funds raised are to be donated to the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas Veterans Support Fund. TMI senior leads Rotarians in service project

Elise Notzon, a senior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas enlisted the help of members of the Dominion Rotary Club in making special “lovie” dolls that help parents of premature infants bond with their children while the babies are still in hospital neonatal intensive care units (NICU). At the club’s Sept. 30 meeting, Notzon showed the Rotarians how to make the dolls, a project of the Threads of Love needlework ministry. TMI sophomore earns Eagle Scout rank

Andrew Snyder, a sophomore at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas received the rank of Eagle Scout at a Board of Review on Aug. 12. This is the highest rank attainable in Boy Scouting; only about six percent of all Scouts earn Eagle rank. Snyder is a member of Troop 1920, chartered to St. Helena’s Episcopal Church in Boerne. He will be recognized for his achievement at an Eagle Court of Honor to be held Jan. 31, 2015.
