TMI student invited to D.C. security program

TMI sophomore Ana Paula Velasco visits the White House during her recent stay in the Washington D.C. area for a national-security course.

Ana Paula Velasco, a sophomore at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, attended the National Youth Leadership Forum for National Security in Washington D.C., March 10-15, during her school’s spring break.

This invitation-only, six-day course provided high-school students from all over the country with an interest in careers in security with a hands-on opportunity to develop their understanding in the fields of intelligence, defense and diplomacy. Activities include meetings with representative of government agencies and private companies, site visits to agencies concerned with national security and real-world simulations of the crisis decision-making process, as well as sightseeing in our nation’s capital.
