TMI softball catches district recognition

Five members of the varsity softball team of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas were named to Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) District 4A, District 3 honor teams. Shortstop Taylor Devlin, a senior, was selected for the All District first team; and catcher Lauren Devlin, a sophomore, received second-team recognition. Choir and Band End-of-Year Awards

Last night, at the end of the annual Spring Concert, the TMI Fine Arts Department began a new tradition of recognizing band and choir students who have excelled in their work. Choral Awards NYSSA BROWN – Middle School Singers MVP AWARD is given to that student, who, in the opinion of their peers, represents dedication to the ensemble and is an invaluable member of the Singers. TMI golfer scores first at state

Cole Solis, a senior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, won first place in the TAPPS 4A state golf tournament, held May 4-5 at the Squaw Valley Golf Club in Glen Rose. Solis was point leader for the first day with a score of 68 (four under par) and hit rounds of 68 and 69 to clinch the championship with a total score of 137 (7 under par). Freshman twins tapped for elite science program

Hannah Wool and Julia Wool, freshmen at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, have been selected to attend the Voelcker Biomedical Research Academy at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. They are the first set of twins to be accepted into this competitive program. The Academy provides an immersive biomedical research and education and college-preparatory for San Antonio high-school students. Up to 20 rising sophomores each year are accepted to this elite three-year summer program, in which participants are paired with outstanding biomedical scientists from UTHSC-San Antonio. TMI Robotics honored by City Council

The TMI Robotics team traveled to St. Louis, Mo. on April 23-26 to compete in the FTC World Championship with 128 other teams from around the world. Upon their return, members of the TMI Robotics team were honored May 1 by the San Antonio City Council for advancing to the championship. TMI netwomen earn state berths

Ten members of the varsity tennis team of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas won eligibility through regular-season victories to compete at the TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) State Tennis Championships , held April 23-24 in the Waco Regional Tennis Center. TMI LAXmen capture league awards

Several members of the varsity lacrosse team of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas earned awards from the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) for outstanding play throughout the 2014 season, which the Panthers finished as San Antonio district champions. Senior Jonathan Clark received the Academic All American Award for the student-athlete who has earned the best academic record. At TMI, he is a member of the National Honor Society and earlier this year was named a National Hispanic Scholar, one of the highest-scoring, Hispanic-identified students who took the PSAT/NMSQT last year. TMI LAXmen take district championship

The varsity lacrosse team of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas clinched the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) San Antonio District Division II championship with a 16-4 win April 15 over Reagan High School. The game concluded a season in which the Panthers went undefeated in district play. District championship qualifies TMI to advance to a four-team super regional tournament, to be held April 26-27 at TMI with opponents to be determined by the results of South, Central and North Texas district contests. Students attend Texas State Junior Classical League Convention

This past weekend, April 11-12, 2014, TMI students attended the Texas State Junior Classical League Convention (TSJCL) in Austin. Faculty members Alleyne Rogers and Claudia Clark took 19 students from TMI who joined over 2,500 other Latin students from all over the state and gathered at Westwood High School for the annual TSJCL Convention. Fifteen TMI students placed in the top 10 of their academic tests.
