Several members of the varsity lacrosse team of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas earned awards from the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) for outstanding play throughout the 2014 season, which the Panthers finished as San Antonio district champions.
Senior Jonathan Clark received the Academic All American Award for the student-athlete who has earned the best academic record. At TMI, he is a member of the National Honor Society and earlier this year was named a National Hispanic Scholar, one of the highest-scoring, Hispanic-identified students who took the PSAT/NMSQT last year. Clark plans to attend Texas A&M University, Mays School of Business, Honors Program next year.
TMI players named to the THSLL All State honor team were: William Cameron “Cam” Campbell, senior, midfield; Gerrick Cantrell, junior, attack; Kyle Cantu, sophomore, FOGO (face-off); Jonathan Clark, senior, Long Stick Midfielder; Emilio Martinez, sophomore, goalie; and Jesus “Chuy” Suday, senior, defense.
Panthers selected for All District were: GW Bodden, sophomore, attack; Weston Cleveland, junior, attack; Markell Henderson, junior, midfield; and Alexander Graham, junior, defense. Recognized with All District Honorable Mention were Dillon Basse, sophomore, defense; and Connor McMillian, junior, midfield.
TMI Head Lacrosse Coach John Beck was named Coach of the Year, and Blake Skinner was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
THSLL awards are chosen by league coaches, who meet at the conclusion of the lacrosse season.
