Students attend Texas State Junior Classical League Convention

This past weekend, April 11-12, 2014, TMI students attended the Texas State Junior Classical League Convention (TSJCL) in Austin. Faculty members Alleyne Rogers and Claudia Clark took 19 students from TMI who joined over 2,500 other Latin students from all over the state and gathered at Westwood High School for the annual TSJCL Convention. Fifteen TMI students placed in the top 10 of their academic tests. The mission of the Junior Classical League is to encourage interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of Classical antiquity.
