Mohr Day at TMI
On April 22, 2022, the TMI community honored former TMI student Jackson Mohr and celebrated his life and legacy of service. Jackson Mohr passed away on April 22, 2021, after being found by his parents unresponsive in his bed on the morning of April 19. The terminology for what happened to Jackson is Sudden Cardiac Death. While there are no words to explain this tragic loss for his family and our community, Jackson is remembered as a son, brother, friend, teammate, classmate, and Servant Leader. Gabby Beck selected to attend the Air Force Academy Summer Seminar
Gabby Beck ’23 was selected to attend the Air Force Academy Summer Seminar this June. This program provides an opportunity to learn more about life as a cadet at the Academy. Students are selected to participate in Summer Seminar based on a “whole person concept” that includes demonstrated leadership experience or potential in extracurricular and community activities, athletics, and academics. Historically, more than 3,200 people apply and roughly 640 are selected. Kilbride and McCray break school records
Congratulations to Jake Kilbride ’22 for breaking the boys discus school record.Jake threw an impressive 146-4 at the SACS invitational on April 14, 2022. JROTC JPA Inspection Results, Honor Unit With Distinction
The JROTC Cadets participated in their JROTC Program of Accreditation inspection Thursday, April 14, 2022, and earned glowing remarks by the U.S. Army’s 5th ROTC Brigade. The Cadets were tested on their knowledge in several different educational areas and presented TMI in a fantastic manner. Jorge Rodriguez qualified for the National Western Development Gymnastics Competition
On April 3, 2022, TMI student Jorge Rodriguez ’27, a Junior Olympian and part of the Alamo Gymnastics San Antonio team, competed in the regional championships held in Gonzales, LA, where he qualified for the National Western Development Competition. Jorge began his gymnastic career at the age of 4, and began competing at the age of 6. He has many accomplishments including being selected for the All Future Stars Development Team USA Boys Gymnastic team in 2017 and winning 2nd place in all-around for the state of Texas is 2018. TMI Lacrosse – District Champions
TMI Panther Lacrosse continues its hot streak running their season record to 14-1 with a convincing win over Alamo Heights 17-4 on April 14, 2022. The lopsided victory clinched the THSLL District Title and gives the Panthers a #1 seed heading into their playoff push. The Panthers have one remaining regular season match against Reagan on Wednesday, April 20 at TMI before advancing to the THSLL Super Regional April 30 – May 1.
