On April 22, 2022, the TMI community honored former TMI student Jackson Mohr and celebrated his life and legacy of service. Jackson Mohr passed away on April 22, 2021, after being found by his parents unresponsive in his bed on the morning of April 19. The terminology for what happened to Jackson is Sudden Cardiac Death. While there are no words to explain this tragic loss for his family and our community, Jackson is remembered as a son, brother, friend, teammate, classmate, and Servant Leader. Just before his passing, he was awarded Middle School Cadet of the Year–an honor bestowed as a result of consistency and excellence in student leadership. Jackson provided the ultimate gift of life to others as an organ donor, and so his life of compassion and service to others will endure.
Councilman Manny Palaez presented a proclamation to the TMI community during the April 22, 2022, morning chapel service declaring it Jackson Mohr Day. Following chapel, students followed an abbreviated class schedule and then participated in service projects during the afternoon.
