TMI sophomore earns Eagle Scout rank

Andrew Snyder, a sophomore at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas received the rank of Eagle Scout at a Board of Review on Aug. 12. This is the highest rank attainable in Boy Scouting; only about six percent of all Scouts earn Eagle rank. Snyder is a member of Troop 1920, chartered to St. Helena’s Episcopal Church in Boerne. He will be recognized for his achievement at an Eagle Court of Honor to be held Jan. 31, 2015. TMI takes the Ice Bucket Challenge

TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas took the big chill for charity Friday, Aug. 15, when nearly 50 faculty and staff lined up in the school’s Johnston Amphitheater to douse themselves with buckets of ice, following a nationwide trend in support of awareness of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease). TMI student claims first in Abilene tennis tourney

Jorge Garcia, a sixth grader at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, won first place in Boys’ 12 Singles at the Abilene Champ Major Zone Tennis Tournament, a U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned event held Aug. 9-10 at Rose Park Tennis Center in Abilene. Playing on a hard-court surface, Garcia won four straight matches in two days, giving up only one single set for the entire tournament. Coach’s forecast: TMI varsity football looking forward to a competitive season

The TMI Panthers are looking forward to a challenging season, but their coach says they’re well-prepared. TMI band leader studies with master pipers

Lincoln Abbott, a junior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, studied bagpiping June 14-20 at Lyon College Celtic Arts Summer School in Batesville, Ark. Abbott, who was chosen to serve as pipe major of the Texas Military Corps of Cadets Pipe and Drum Band during the 2014-2015 school year, learned reed making and intricate bagpipe playing skills and participated in a student recital. TMI student reconnects with roots in heritage program

Lincoln Abbott, a junior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, was accepted to a competitive program sponsored by the South Korean government that brings students of Korean descent to Seoul, Korea, to reconnect with their heritage. Abbott and other teens from the United States as well as Canada, Germany, Japan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Myanmar, Russia and Thailand participated in the program from July 15-22. The students attended a Korean school, toured the city, visited museums and took a bicycle ride to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). TMI celebrates 120th graduation

TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas celebrated its 120th graduation ceremony May 24 in the school’s All Saints Chapel. Members of TMI’s class of 2014 were offered a total of $9 million in scholarships.
