TMI Students Return from WorldQuest

TMI sent three teams of students to this year’s Academic WorldQuest competition, sponsored by the World Affairs Council of San Antonio and hosted at the University of the Incarnate Word. Each team answered challenging questions on topics including Climate Change and Migration,  International Labor Organization, the Past Twenty Years of Afghan History, China’s Involvement with its Neighbors, US-Vietnamese Relations, and Democracy and Technology, amongst other issues.  The senior team of Indigo Keener, Evan Gardner, Farouk Ramzan, and Matthew Sutherland earned 4th-place, and came very close to the 3rd-place winners, BASIS Shavano Park. TMI junior designs and donates mask holders to dentistry students

TMI junior designs and donates mask holders to dentistry students Sophia Oliveira, a junior at TMI Episcopal, created, designed, and fabricated (using a 3D printer) mask holders as a project for her Innovation and Design class. Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, dentists and other health care providers often wear two masks when treating patients. The mask holders that Oliveira designed make it easier for providers to wear multiple masks for hours, comfortably. TMI’s Continued Partnership with UT Health

On Friday, November 12, 2021, Justin Kutscherousky, Director of Innovation, was given the opportunity to speak in front of 40 occupational therapy students at UT Health San Antonio. After a brief lecture on the mechanics of 3D printing, 3D printing’s role in medical technology, and how to use the design-thinking process to create affordable and easy-to-use tools, the students then broke off into groups to create 16 different objects for 16 different case studies. National Latin Exam honors

MAY 20, 2021–TMI Episcopal Latin students took the National Latin Exam this spring, joining 88,000 students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, as well as 20 foreign countries. Once again, TMI Latin students proved to be some of the best and brightest as two students, 7th grader Henry Burgos and 8th grader Olivia Tally, achieved the most prestigious Perfect Paper award as well as gold medals. Texas State Junior Classical League Convention awardees

APRIL 29, 2021 – Congratulations to our TMI Episcopal Latin students who competed this past weekend at the virtual Texas State Junior Classical League Convention against the best and brightest in the state. TMI student accepted by prestigious research program

APRIL 28, 2021 – Ifigenia “Niya” Omiridis, a freshman at TMI Episcopal, was named as one of 23 local high-school students accepted to the Voelcker Biomedical Research Academy at UT Health San Antonio. Starting as rising sophomores, students commit to three summer sessions of seven weeks each. This elite program pairs participants with outstanding biomedical scientists from UT Health, who have included Nobel Prize winners.
