TMI sent three teams of students to this year’s Academic WorldQuest competition, sponsored by the World Affairs Council of San Antonio and hosted at the University of the Incarnate Word. Each team answered challenging questions on topics including Climate Change and Migration, International Labor Organization, the Past Twenty Years of Afghan History, China’s Involvement with its Neighbors, US-Vietnamese Relations, and Democracy and Technology, amongst other issues.
The senior team of Indigo Keener, Evan Gardner, Farouk Ramzan, and Matthew Sutherland earned 4th-place, and came very close to the 3rd-place winners, BASIS Shavano Park. Facing stiff competition, the other two teams (both of which consisted exclusively of 9th and 10th-grade students) also performed well.
