Anom Martinez Awarded Best Overall at UIW’s Gearhead Research Academy

Anom Martinez ’25 and his partner were awarded the Best Overall Award for the research and presentation they did at UIW’s Gearhead Research Academy.  Their samples will be submitted to Atlantic Microlabs for elemental analysis. The Gearheads Research Academy consisted of college-level labs, focus groups, and research developed exclusively for those with an interest in engineering, mathematics, and/or science careers. Flores, Kessler, and Martinez Represented TMI at the Texas Great Debate with the National Hispanic Institute

This Summer, a team of National Hispanic Institute (NHI) at San Antonio students from across the city competed in the Texas Great Debate program hosted by the NHI. For the first time ever, the Texas Great Debate was hosted at Schreiner University!  During the three-day program, they competed against their peers from across the state of Texas. Mara Flores ’25, Kevin Kessler ’25, and M. Izzy DuBois – Writer for Stroll The Dominion

Sophomore Izzy DuBois, who is a member of the journalism club at TMI, was recently honored to be added to the list of distinguished writers of the monthly magazine, Stroll The Dominion. Izzy was featured as a junior writer in the August edition of Stroll The Dominion that also served as her debut as a writer and photographer for the magazine. Lindsay Blanton Completed His First Solo Flight

Cadet Lindsay Blanton, IV ’24 completed the Daedalian Flight Training Program in New Braunfels this summer. The rigorous program takes students through several weeks of on-hand training learning to fly an airplane in preparation for earning their flight license. Lindsay was able to complete his solo flight requirement where he commanded the airplane on his own for several take-off and landing maneuvers. Elise Miles – 2022 Chevrolet South Texas PGA Junior Championship

Elise Miles’ ’23 performance this summer in several South Texas PGA Junior golf tournaments in and around San Antonio earned her an invitation to participate in the 2022 Chevrolet South Texas PGA Junior Championship at The Woodlands Country Club (Palmer Course).
