At TMI, Basil has been named Cadet of the Month and was a member of the rifle team that participated in last fall’s Texas state JROTC competition. He has been a member of a cadet CyberPatriot cyber defense team, earned honors in Junior Classical League competitions and is a member of the Freshman Scholastic Society for ninth graders who have earned averages of 90 or higher. Since 1922, A&M alumni have gathered on April 21, San Jacinto Day, to celebrate Texas independence and share their memories and camaraderie as former students. The annual tradition of “Muster” was born as a day of events shared by all alumni and is celebrated at more than 300 locations worldwide.
