
4/24/2018–TMI Episcopal announces new members of the school’s Board of Governors and Board of Trustees, appointed by the Rt. Rev. David M. Reed, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. New governors are Retired Army Col. Emmette Burton and the Rev. Lisa Mason.
Burton was a teacher and coach at TMI for 12 years. He previously was chairman of the TMI Board of Trustees and serves on the schools Finance and Facilities and Investment Oversight committees. Mason is rector of St. David’s Episcopal Church. She has served on the Episcopal Schools Commission of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas and on the Board of Trustees at the Seminary of the Southwest.
The new trustee is Chris Mitchell, former TMI chaplain and former youth minister of St. Luke’s Episcopal church, who has served as chairman of the program committee for Camp Capers, the diocesan youth camp, and as adult staff for Happening Movement youth retreats. He is currently Director of Education Sales for Data Projections Inc., a company that specializes in audio-visual technology, and is an active member of Grace Episcopal Church, which meets for worship in TMI’s All Saints Chapel.
Members of TMI’s Board of Governors assist with financial and educational decisions and act as liaisons between the school and its supporting constituencies, while members of TMI’s Board of Trustees serve on committees, act as ambassadors to Episcopal parishes and elementary schools and participate in other school activities.
