TMI students help with holiday meals for the needy

TMI students help get holiday meals ready for needy families at the Hill Country Daily Bread facility in Boerne.

Students from TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas volunteered Nov. 18 to help unload turkeys to be distributed to needy families by Hill Country Daily Bread, a Boerne aid agency. The students, including members of TMI’s Interact chapter, also helped load complete Thanksgiving meals into cars for delivery to the recipients.

With the goal of educating servant-leaders, TMI requires community-service participation by all students through Interact, a Rotary-sponsored youth community-service group, or through church, Scouting or other organizations. Last year, TMI students contributed nearly 7,000 hours of community service, more than twice their total requirement.
