
The boys’ varsity basketball team of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas won the Marlin Classic basketball tournament, held Nov. 15-17 at Port Aransas High School.
The Panthers went undefeated to clinch the championship. Against St. Andrew’s Episcopal School – Austin, they won 62-59, including two three-pointers by junior Travis Haiduk and a team high score of 30 points by freshman LeSean Brown. TMI bested the host team 65-62, when junior Steele Sessions hit a pair of clutch free throws to secure the title.
Brown took home the tournament MVP award, while TMI Head Coach Bob Pels was recognized as top coach of the tournament, and Haiduk and Sessions were named to the all-tournament team.
