Members of the TMI cross-country team ran fast times at the H-E-B Zoo Fun Run, held Sept. 9 at the San Antonio Zoo, with teams of four competing.
The team entered the fun run “to prepare us for our next big meet at UTSA,” said Head Varsity Cross-Country Coach Carrie Ridewood. In keeping with the theme of the event, the athletes wore their TMI team uniforms and decorated their faces to suggest their favorite animals. While individual results weren’t available immediately, said Mrs. Ridewood, “We did have some exciting placements with very hard competition.”
Panther girls Berkeley Brown, Falon Little, Gabriella Jeffords and Johanna Kullenberg took second place in the 18 and under division, and a boys’ team of Jay Cody Key, Alex Hager, Chris Pietraszkiewiecz and Chad Wisnowski took fourth among 14 teams.
The cross-country team will participate in the Romo Classic on Sept. 17 at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
