TMI names new Taylor scholar

TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas has awarded a Robert B. Taylor Scholarship to Aaron Cornelius, who will be a freshman at TMI in the 2011-2012 school year.

The Taylor Scholarship is a four-year award given to a rising ninth-grader who has demonstrated scholarship and worthy character.

As a middle-school student at TMI, Cornelius made “A” Honor Roll rankings, has twice received a National Latin Award, played basketball, football and soccer and holds a black belt in karate. As a member of TMI’s JuniorAct community-service club, he has volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and San Antonio Food Bank; he also has taken part in a class project in which TMI eighth-graders visited Woodrow Wilson Elementary School to read with students.

Cornelius, who previously attended the Carver Academy, is the son of Janine Richards and James Cornelius.

Returning Taylor Scholars are senior Samantha Cox, junior Julian Roberts and sophomore Falon Little.
