Joseph DeLoach, choir director of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, was selected to be a conducting fellow in the University of Georgia Summer Choral Conducting Institute, an intensive, weeklong program of seminars and master classes for music educators and church musicians. DeLoach was one of 12 applicants chosen to participate in the Institute, to be held June 23-27 at the university’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music. TMI administrator named honorary commandant

Tracy Carter, Dean of Academic Advancement at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas was named honorary commandant of the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC) at Lackland AFB. She was selected on the basis of a nomination package and interviews for the position. TMI teacher named to honor society

Karla Ortiz, who teaches English as a Second Language at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, has been accepted to the Honor Society at Lamar University, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Tracy Carter, Dean of Academic Advancement at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas was selected to participate in the next Leadership San Antonio class. TMI teacher to represent area at classical meet

Claudia Clark, who teaches Latin at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, has been selected by area colleagues to represent the San Antonio Classical Society at the Texas Classical Association Fall Conference to be held Nov. 2-3 at the University of Texas at Austin. The Texas Classical Association is an organization for teachers and future teachers of the classics in Texas at all levels, from elementary school through university. TMI art teacher awarded full scholarship

Melissa Cormier, a visual arts instructor at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, has been awarded a full scholarship to attend the Art Educators’ Forum Summer Conference in June at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savanna, Ga. At the conference, art teachers will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on, project-based workshops that include demonstrations, lectures, studio work and local field trips, learning new skills that can be incorporated into their classrooms.
