On the 20th anniversary of becoming an official sports program, TMI Panther lacrosse ended their 2021-2022 season with an exclamation point, defeating Alamo Heights 11-2 in the THSLL State Championship match! On their way to TMI’s first-ever lacrosse state championship, they outscored their opponents 298-103 and posted an astonishing 5.7 goals against average! Several school records were also broken including overall record (18-1), Points (Alex Bellucci), Goals (Alex Bellucci ’22), Assists (Wyatt Fincke ’24), and Faceoff Wins (Kaden Fenno ’25).
Individual honors from the championship match were: Offensive MVP Alex Belllucci ’22, Defensive MVP Lance Kahl ’22, and State Tournament MVP Ben Hokenson ’23. The TMI coaching staff also came away with some recognitions as Ryan Williams was named Assistant Coach of the Year, and Blake Skinner was named Head Coach of the Year. Congratulations to all of the players, coaches, and TMI lacrosse family on this historic journey–something the school and our community will celebrate for many years to come. It’s a great day to be a Panther!
