
7/14/2018 Hannah Growney, a rising freshman at TMI Episcopal, successfully completed Auburn Vet Camp, held June 17-22 at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, Ala. Out of 450 applicants, she was one of 50 students chosen to participate, based on grades, recommendations and an essay.
The summer program for students entering grades 9-11 who are interested in careers in veterinary medicine. Campers learn about anatomy, first aid, imagining, public health, farm animals and wildlife. Second-year veterinary students, along with faculty, technicians and staff, provide the veterinary coursework campers take, in university classrooms, laboratories and outdoor facilities including Auburn’s beef, dairy, equine, raptor and swine units.
Growney, a graduate of St. George Episcopal School, participates in the Bexar County 4-H Preveterinary Club.
