TMI junior selected for student medical congress

Will Sowell, a junior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, has been nominated to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, to be held Nov. 14-16 in Washington D.C.

Presented by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, the Congress is an honors-only program for high-school students who want to become physicians or to go into medical research fields. Participants from across the country will attend talks by Nobel laureates and National Medal of Science winners, hear from medical-school deans on the requirements of medical education and learn about cutting-edge advances and the future of medicine and medical technology.

At TMI, Sowell is a member of the National Honors Society and the varsity cross-country team. He also plays saxophone in the school band and will star in the school’s fall play, “Hearts Like Fists,” to be performed Nov. 19-22. He previously was twice nominated to attend the National Young Leaders Conference.
