TMI senior named National Merit finalist

Susannah Wright, a senior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, has been named a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition.

As one of about 15,000 finalists, she was chosen from a group of semifinalists announced last September, who advanced to the next stage of the competition by meeting high academic standards as demonstrated by an application for finalist status.

Later this spring, approximately 8,000 finalists will be notified that they have been selected to win scholarships.
1.5 million high-school students entered the 2014 National Merit program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) in October 2012. Only one percent of the college-bound class of 2014 has reached finalist status.

At TMI, Wright is the recipient of an Alkek Scholarship, one of two four-year, full-tuition awards made each year to students of outstanding academic accomplishment and extracurricular participation. She is a graduate of St. Luke’s Episcopal School.
