Bloxsom tours Bristow Academy where he will continue his flight training

Senior Truett Bloxsom, already a licensed helicopter pilot, has accepted an offer of admission to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He is the recipient of the Chancellor’s Scholarship, for which he was selected from a highly qualified group, reflecting the university’s recognition of his accomplishments as a pilot and student. He also was invited by William E. Chiles ’67, president and CEO of the Bristow Group, to tour the Bristow Academy in Titusville, Fla., which he visited on December 19, 2013; he will continue his flight training at Bristow. At Embry-Riddle, Truett will major in Aviation Business Management with a minor in Finance; and at Bristow, he will finish his instrument flight training and commercial training as well as his CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) rating to complete rotorcraft training, after which he will take up fixed-wing aircraft training. Truett plans to work in the commercial offshore business, flying helicopters as soon as he has the ratings to do so.
