
Two students from TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas were nominated to attend Texas Boys State 2013, to be held June 9-14 on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. Juniors Jake Fox and Steele Sessions, both first sergeants in the Texas Military Institute Corps of Cadets (JROTC), will be sponsored by American Legion Post 593 in Converse, of which TMI’s assistant commandant, retired Army Maj. Joe Claburn is an active member.
Requirements for school nominees include strong academic performance, leadership skills, community involvement and excellence in public speaking.
American Legion Boys State is a selective educational program of government instruction for high school students. It is a participatory program where each student becomes a part of the operation of his local, county, and state government.
