TMI athletes named academic all-state

Two student-athletes from TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas have been named to academic all-state honor teams by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS).

To qualify, students must earn a grade-point average of 90 or above and meet requirements for their sports.

Tyler Styles, who graduated from TMI on May 19, made the conference’s baseball academic all-state team, having been named previously by the conference to its all-district first team.

Kari Xu, also a member of the class of 2012, made the track academic all-state team team by having qualified for the TAPPS state meet.

Nominees are submitted by their coaches and approved by TAPPS officials.
