The number of students at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas who receive honors in the National Spanish Examination continues to grow, said David Archer, chairman of the Foreign Language Department.
Of the students who took the 2012 exam, which includes categories for both native and non-native speakers, 94 earned honors for their scores. Of those honored, 24 won Oro (gold), the highest designation.
“We are extremely proud of all of our winners and excited to have had 24 of them win Oro (gold), the most ever of the five years we have been taking the exam,” said Mr. Archer. “Mil gracias to Mrs. Lucy Sobreviñas, Mrs. Sylvia González and Mr. Steve Landkamer for preparing these students.”
Besides the 24 gold winners, 21 students earned silver distinction, 19 earned bronze and 30 received honorable mention. Students who earned honors in the 2012 exam are:
