The TMI varsity volleyball team won first place in the varsity volleyball tournament held Sept. 2-3 at Lutheran High School. The Panthers won 11 games to claim the championship title, besting Lutheran, Our Lady of the Hills, Utopia and others.
All Tournament Team honors went to TMI outside hitter, Gabriella Greenfield, a junior; and setter/right-side hitter Allison Limmer, a senior. Greenfield made 40 kills, 20 digs and 14 aces; and Limmer had 22 kills, 37 assists, 18 digs and three aces.
“They followed each and every instruction without hesitation,” said TMI Head Volleyball Coach Brandon Palomo. “Their attitude, focus and determination reflect the way they have embraced our team-first philosophy. I’m extremely proud of what they have accomplished so far and look forward to many more great things this season.”
