San Antonio, TX – [October 23, 2025] – TMI Episcopal proudly announces a historic milestone in its 132-year legacy with the launch of Girls Lacrosse as an officially sponsored athletic program. This landmark addition expands TMI’s athletic options and reinforces the school’s commitment to providing opportunities for female student athletes to grow, compete, and succeed.
A main goal of the new Girls Lacrosse program is to increase athletic opportunities for female students, making sure each student has a path to follow their passions, build their skills, and compete at the highest levels.
Leading the inaugural program is Meg Bahara, a lifelong lacrosse player and experienced coach with over a decade of experience. A native of New Jersey and a recent Texas resident, Bahara played collegiate lacrosse at The University of Scranton and has coached athletes at every level, from beginners to high school standouts who went on to play in college. Last season, she successfully guided TMI’s club lacrosse team, helping players improve their skills while fostering teamwork and personal growth.
Athletic Director Peter Casey expressed his enthusiasm about this milestone, noting that “the launch of Girls Lacrosse marks a historic moment for TMI Athletics. We are committed to expanding opportunities for our female student-athletes, and launching this program demonstrates that dedication. Coach Meg Bahara is the perfect leader to guide this team through its first season, and we are eager to see the program thrive under her vision and enthusiasm.”
The Panthers will continue their participation in the Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League (TGHSLL), one of the top scholastic lacrosse leagues in the state. Starting next year, the program will also join the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC), further reinforcing its position within TMI’s proud athletic tradition.

“Lacrosse has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I’m honored to help establish it as an official program at TMI,” said Coach Meg Bahara. “Last year’s club season showed the great potential and enthusiasm among our students for the game. I am excited to build a program that not only develops skills and competitiveness but also promotes teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong love for the sport.”
By introducing Girls Lacrosse, TMI Episcopal continues to fulfill its mission of providing transformative athletic opportunities for young women, inspiring them to develop as athletes, leaders, and teammates. The Panthers will make their official debut this spring, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for TMI Athletics, 132 years in the making.
