TMI Episcopal is pleased to announce that Taylor Phelps has been named our new Chief Advancement Officer, officially joining the school on November 10th.
Taylor brings a wealth of experience in advancement and fundraising leadership, and we are delighted to welcome him to the Panther community.
Taylor most recently served as Chief Development Officer for the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where he helped lead the College to record-breaking success. Under his leadership, the Klesse College achieved a total fundraising record of $58.8 million, contributing to UTSA’s Be Bold campaign, which raised $575 million over eight years. The College also became the second named college in UTSA’s history following a $20 million gift, and celebrated its two most productive fundraising years to date.
Beyond his achievements in higher education fundraising, Taylor serves on the Executive Board for the Engineering Development Forum, a national network that convenes 300 advancement professionals from top engineering schools across the country. He is also an active member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), where he has presented at both regional and national conferences.
Prior to his time at UTSA, Taylor spent four years at his alma mater, Texas A&M University–Commerce, as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Resource Development and later as Senior Director of Principal Giving. Earlier in his career, he held positions in collegiate athletics at the University of Missouri, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and Texas A&M University–Commerce, where he was recognized with the 2020 Rising Star Award by the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD).
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a Master of Education from the University of Missouri.
He and his wife, Morgan, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), live in Alamo Heights with their one-year-old son, Conrad, and two Yorkshire Terriers, Jyn and Maz. Together, they enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring San Antonio, and dining throughout Central and South Texas.
“My family and I are thrilled to join the TMI Episcopal community,” said Phelps. “The accomplishments across 132 years of history are truly inspiring, and we’re excited to be part of the next chapter in this legacy of excellence. It’s an honor to join a school so deeply rooted in purpose, tradition, and vision—and I’m proud to be a Panther.”
Please join us in welcoming Taylor Phelps to TMI Episcopal!
