TMI Episcopal Names Anthony Garcia as Head Baseball Coach

TMI Episcopal is proud to announce the appointment of Anthony Garcia as the new Head Baseball Coach, succeeding long-time leader Coach Pat Davis, Class of 1994, who faithfully served the Panthers for over 25 years. While stepping away from coaching, Coach Davis will continue to serve the TMI community in the classroom. He leaves behind an enduring legacy of excellence and mentorship that helped shape the TMI baseball program into what it is today.

Coach Garcia has an impressive background, including being an All-District pitcher at Madison High School (2006) and a two-time summer state champion (2005, 2007) with Capital Park Big League. His college playing career included time at Laredo Community College and Cisco College, where he helped lead the team to its first playoff appearance, before moving on to play Division I baseball at the University of Texas Pan American (now UTRGV), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history.

Over the past 15 years, Coach Garcia has dedicated himself to coaching and player development, offering private lessons and mentorship to athletes of all ages. Most recently, he was the Head Baseball Coach at St. Mary’s Hall, where he emphasized performance, leadership, and character development.

Peter Casey, Athletic Director at TMI Episcopal, said, “When I started looking for our next head baseball coach, I knew we needed someone capable of building on the solid foundation Coach Davis established over the years. Those are big shoes to fill, but Coach Garcia is the perfect leader for this new chapter. His love for the game, focus on character, and dedication to player growth immediately set him apart.”

Coach Garcia’s leadership comes at a pivotal time in the program’s history. He will guide the Panthers through their final season competing in the 6A TAPPS before TMI transitions to the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) in the 2026–2027 school year. His experience and steady leadership will help ensure a strong finish in TAPPS while preparing the team to meet the heightened competitive standards of SPC play.

Coach Anthony Garcia said, “It is an absolute honor to join the TMI family. I have always believed that baseball is more than just a game; it’s a platform to develop young men into leaders with integrity, grit, character, and discipline. I’m excited to get to work, build relationships with our players and families, and create a positive, competitive environment where our student-athletes can thrive.”

Coach Garcia resides in San Antonio with his wife, Jessica, and their two children, Adrian and Sofia. He credits their love and support as the foundation of his coaching journey.

We look forward to an exciting new era for TMI Baseball under Coach Garcia’s leadership. Welcome to the Panther family, Coach!
