Anna Barton, Middle School English Instructor –– Ms. Anna Barton joins TMI with 30 years of experience and a passion for helping students discover a love for reading and writing. Ms. Barton holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio.Helping students find a love for reading and writing is a passion of Ms. Barton’s. Outside the classroom, she enjoys traveling and studying Japanese.

Maggie Carranza, Middle School English Instructor –– Ms. Maggie Carranza joins TMI with 23 years of teaching experience across grades K–8. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Education from San Diego State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from National University. Her specialties include English Language Arts and Bilingual Education. In her personal time, Ms. Carranza enjoys traveling and reading.

Christopher Black, Upper School English Instructor –– Dr. Christopher Black joins TMI as an Upper School English Teacher with a Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy and a Master of Arts in English from Texas A&M University. He brings experience teaching high school English and leading college-level courses, including study abroad programs in Greece. His academic interests include philosophical fiction, British Romantic poetry, and world literature. Outside the classroom, he enjoys hiking, wildlife photography, traveling, and cheering on the Texas Rangers.

Kelsie Adams, Upper School English Instructor –– Mrs. Kelsie Adams joins TMI with nine years of experience in education, including roles as an English teacher and Digital Learning Specialist in Boerne ISD. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in History from Texas A&M University and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Applied Digital Learning from Lamar University. Mrs. Adams is passionate about student-centered learning, curriculum development, and integrating technology in the classroom. Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons, as well as reading, painting, exploring new places, and staying active.

Patrick Ramey, Upper School History Instructor –– Mr. Patrick Ramey joins TMI’s Upper School faculty to teach AP U.S. History and Global Studies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Secondary Education from Wake Forest University and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Tennessee. He has a special interest in the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, and he’s passionate about using history and literature to foster critical thinking and empathy. Outside the classroom, he enjoys hiking with his wife and dog, baking homemade pizza, running, and watching college football.

Samuel Bowers, Middle School Robotics and Innovation and Design Instructor –– Mr. Sam Bowers joins TMI with 15 years of teaching experience across a wide range of subjects, including Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, Science, Computer Science, Robotics, and History. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in English from the University of Texas at Arlington. He discovered a passion for STEM education while teaching Robotics and Automation in Boerne, where he found it both intellectually and creatively stimulating. Outside the classroom, he enjoys creative writing, running, and spending quality time with family and friends.
