Congratulations to freshman Izzy DuBois on receiving the Merci Award from the National Charity League, where she served as president. During the award reception at the Witte Museum, Izzy was selected to speak about what community service means to her. She shared what motivated her to serve over 599 hours with the National Charity League’s philanthropies last year, and spoke about her initiates as Vice President of Philanthropy for the 2022–2023 year, including teaching hands-only CPR. She presented a moving speech about sudden cardiac death, the loss of her friend and classmate, and her motivation to teach this valuable life saving skill to as many people as possible; she closed by dedicating her award and her speech to her friend, Jackson Mohr.
