TMI announces Lillibridge Scholars

TMI Episcopal has named Lucas Senecal and Ivory Stoltz as recipients of the Lillibridge Scholarship, its most prestigious merit award for Middle School students, for the 2020-2021 school year.

Since 2016, the scholarship is awarded to two rising sixth-grade students who will be joining the TMI community. The $15,000 scholarship is distributed in the amount of $5,000 per year from sixth through eighth grade. Recipients are expected to embody the core values of TMI by maintaining a high academic average, participating in extracurricular activities and demonstrating excellent character.

Senecal is currently a fifth grader at Hardy Oak Elementary School, where he is in the Gifted and Talented program, has received an award for outstanding leaders and is a member of the choir and Coding Club. He also plays club basketball and takes karate lessons. Stoltz is a fifth grader at CHILD Montessori. She plays basketball and is a member of two club swim teams, where she has been named Swimmer of the Week. She also enjoys dance classes and has twice earned a scholarship to the Southwest School of Art Summer Camp.

The Lillibridge Scholarship honors the Rt. Rev. Gary R. Lillibridge, who served as bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas from 2006 until his retirement in 2017. He served as chairman of TMI’s Board of Governors throughout his episcopate. Bishop Lillibridge and his wife Catherine are the parents of TMI alumni Amy and Thomas, members of the classes of 2010 and 2011.
