TMI junior’s team wins Vegas hoops tourney

Mariah Podwika, a rising junior at TMI Episcopal, was a member of the team that won the Varsity Girls Division championship of the Bigfoot Hoops Las Vegas Live Basketball Tournament.

The San Antonio Hustlers took the top spot in the Las Vegas Live tournament, played July 21 in area high-school gyms.

Podwika, a shooting guard, will play her second season on the TMI varsity women’s basketball team at TMI during the 2019-2020 school year.

Bigfoot Hoops is a youth basketball program that creates tournament events in a travel-team season for high-school players from across the country to be seen by college coaches, press and fans nationwide.
