TMI sophomore scores science fair first

Lincoln Abbott of Fair Oaks Ranch, a sophomore at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, was awarded first place March 4 at the Alamo Regional Science and Engineering Fair in the senior division’s Earth Science category for his project, “GeoEngineering: A Mitigation Strategy for Climate Change.”

He also earned two special awards, one from the Southwest Gem & Mineral Society and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s “Taking the Pulse of the Planet” Award.

As a project winner, Abbott received an invitation to compete at the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair, to be held March 20-23 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
