City Councilman Ron Nirenberg presented a proclamation recognizing the 120th anniversary of the founding of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas on Dec. 3 during a daily chapel service in the school’s All Saints Chapel. Headmaster John W. Cooper, Ph.D. welcomed the councilman, whose District 8 includes TMI, and received the proclamation from him.

Signed by San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, the proclamation extends the city’s official congratulations for “carrying on the historical legacy” of the school’s founding in 1893 by the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas, with “best wishes for many more years of success.”

In his remarks, Nirenberg recognized the school for its dedication to the Four Pillars of a TMI education: Academics, Spirituality, Athletics and Military. “We are so proud of this institution and its successful graduates,” he said, “and I look forward to the future achievements of today’s TMI students.”
