Cadets shadow at Camp Bullis

by CDT 2LT Erica Cavazos, Battalion S2

TMI’s Corps of Cadets spent the day shadowing military counterparts on Saturday, September 7, 2013. The day involved great experiences and views on the real military and what they do (or at least a few do) in comparison to our battalion/jobs. For example, our Battalion Commander was able to shadow and inquire on what a real Battalion Commander does with his time and his duties. Hosted at Camp Bullis, TMI’s cadet leadership (Platoon Sergeants and above) had the great opportunity of shadowing the reflective positions we currently hold. The unit we visited was 2nd Battalion, Small Arms Readiness Group (SARG), 1/70 OPS BDE (Operations Brigade) — the Battalion XO of this SARG was Major Claburn’s old friend from the time they were lieutenants together. Now that cadets have more of a new perspective, they have wisely applied these new concepts introduced to them with what they are faced with now.
