TMI students and faculty take part in Happening #124

Happening #124 took place this past weekend at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Wimberly, Texas, and TMI seniors, Christina Howe and Lunden Owens were the student rectors of Happening and H.I.S Love, respectively.

The Bishop’s Happening Movement is a powerful instrument of renewal in the church. Its aim is to concentrate closely on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our faith is seriously examined in a relaxed, fun and informal atmosphere. Happening is an experience that gives those who attend the desire to understand and serve the church. What’s more, it provides the means to continue the Christian formation, which is just begun in the three-day program. Happening is open to students in 10th-12th grade (rising 10th graders may attend the August Happening). The Episcopal Diocese of West Texas sponsors three Happening weekends each year in various locations.

This past weekend, TMI senior, Patrick Wickham, was announced as the rector for the next Happening, #125, and TMI faculty member, Claudia Clark, will serve as the parish coordinator. Happening #125 will take place at TMI on August 2-4, 2013. For more information on how to register, please visit the diocesan website http://www.dwtx.org and click on events.
