
Christopher Pietraszkiewicz, a junior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, won first place among all male runners entered in the TAPPS State Cross-country Championship, held Oct. 20 on the Baylor University cross-country course in Waco.
With a time of 16:09 in the 5,000 meters event, he bested not only other runners in his 4A division but those in all other classifications as well, leading his closest competitor by more than a full minute.
Previously this season, Pietraszkiewicz set the season’s record for this event with a time of 16:02 at the Aug. 25 TMI Panther Invitational meet. He also won firsts in the 5,000 meters at the Aug. 27 John Paul II Cross-Country Meet and the Sept. 5 Bandera High School meet and in the 3 mile on Sept. 8 at the San Marcos Runnin’ Rattler Cross-country Meet.
