James “Jake” Fox and Christopher Perez, sophomores at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, were among 23 Eagle Scout rank recipients recognized at a Court of Honor held by Boy Scout Troop 809, chartered through Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church.
The ceremony was held in Trinity Baptist Church; former Spur and NBA Hall of Famer David Robinson was the guest speaker.
Eagle rank is the highest awarded by the Boy Scouts of America; to earn it, Scouts must fulfill requirements in the areas of leadership, service and outdoor skills and pass specific ranks and tests. They must also plan and execute a community-service project.
Only five percent of boys who join Scouts attain the Eagle rank. Eagle Scouts are expected to be role models for other Scouts and to be lifelong leaders based on the leadership skills they demonstrated during their rise to Eagle.
