TMI skeet shoot benefits scholarships
The TMI Alumni Association will hold its 11th Annual Modified Sporting Clay Shoot on Sept. 9 at the San Antonio Gun Club, 928 Contour Drive. Registration begins at noon, the shoot starts at 1 p.m. and will be followed by an awards program and a barbecue dinner to be served at 4:30 p.m. Established in 2001, the event is presented by TMI alumni volunteers and is open to the public. Registration is $100 for individuals and includes dinner and two boxes of shells and $500 for teams, including dinner and two boxes of shells for each competitor. Area student completes basic training at West Point
Cadet Henry Baez Guerra, a 2011 graduate of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, completed Cadet Basic Training (CBT) at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. Guerra entered West Point on June 27 and has successfully completed six weeks of CBT. Also referred to as “Beast Barracks,” CBT is one of the most challenging event cadets encounter during four years at the Academy. This initial military training program provides cadets with basic skills to instill discipline, pride, cohesion and confidence to prepare them for entry into the Corps of Cadets. TMI names Rising Stars
TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas has announced the recipients of its 2011 Rising Stars awards for outstanding young alumni. Jenna Lucado Bishop ’02 and Capt. Andrew Yang ’97 will be honored at Stars over TMI, the school’s annual gala to be held Oct. 1. Bishop, who attended Abilene Christian University, is an inspirational writer and speaker whose ministry is mentoring teen girls.
