TMI juniors explore aerospace careers

Zachary Burgos and Aidan Sherman, both rising juniors at TMI Episcopal, attended the National Student Leadership Conference in Aerospace Engineering, held June 25-July 3 at American University in Washington D.C. With high-school students from all over the country, they learned about careers in aerospace, got hands-on experience in solving engineering problems and made behind-the-scenes visits to NASA and Lockheed Martin to learn how engineers design and build state-of-the-art aircraft and spacecraft.

Since 1989, the National Student Leadership Conference has hosted career-focused summer leadership conferences for select high-school students During the programs, students live in college dorms and attend NSLC-hosted lectures and activities on campus, meeting with leaders in the profession, academic experts and peers interested in the same field. Each program helps students explore a profession while developing their own leadership potential.
